I've always felt that I couldn't draw fan art about a game unless I actually owned/played that game. I don't know why I felt that way but I did.

I got the okami game a few months ago and have ben playing it off and on. I've been wanting to do Okami fan art for awhile, then I saw the contest, so I thought, "Why not now?"

Here's the first okami FA. I tried my best to reproduce the Sumi-e style with my shapries. I think this one look good. It may not look like brush strokes like I was going for, but I love how it came out.

you should see it in color! but still I love the BW version too. Soemthing about it just seems right. it's pleasent i think but not too bold.

Would have never thought of using sharpies... Looks pretty cool, though! ^-^

i used the one's with the angled tips so I could make just tthin lines like in the face and muscles and thicker lines like in the tail. then i went over it with a regular pen to work in some cross hatching and try to make some strokes looks "brushy-er"
